Backyard Built Around Fire and Water

This Southeast Michigan backyard had the space to become something special. It just needed a plan that used it well. GLC Landscaping & Pools designed and installed a large rectangular fiberglass pool with a built-in entry step and arc water feature, surrounded by an expansive gray paver patio that gives the full space room to breathe. A built-in outdoor fireplace with a stone surround anchors one end of the patio and creates a defined gathering area separate from the pool.

Adirondack seating around the fireplace and stepping stone walkways integrated into the lawn tie the two spaces together naturally. A row of tall arborvitae lines the back fence and provides natural privacy screening that softens the perimeter without closing the space in. Landscape beds with white flowering shrubs add color and definition along the edges. A white vinyl fence encloses the full yard and gives everything a clean, finished boundary.

The finished backyard offers two distinct places to spend time outside. One centered on the water, one centered on the fire. A patio that connects it all and makes the whole space feel complete.
