On August 26th, GLC Landscaping & Pools proudly joined fellow members of the Southeast Michigan Nursery & Landscape Association (SEMNLA) for the 2nd Annual Day of Service Project — a meaningful event dedicated to giving back through the work we love most: creating beautiful, functional outdoor spaces.
Transforming a Veteran’s Home Through Teamwork and Compassion
This year’s project took place at the home of a veteran in Lincoln Park, Michigan, where overgrown landscaping and years of neglect had made the outdoor space unusable. Together, ten member firms and 19 volunteers came together for a morning of hands-on work — trimming, hauling, planting, and refreshing the property to restore it into a welcoming outdoor living space.
By the end of the day, what was once an overgrown yard had been transformed into a comfortable, functional environment where the homeowner could once again enjoy time outdoors. The project was not just about improving a property — it was about improving quality of life for someone who has given so much to our country.
GLC Landscaping & Pools: Proud to Contribute and Serve
Our founder, Gino, joined the volunteer crew, working side by side with other SEMNLA members to tackle the cleanup and restoration. GLC also provided landscaping machinery and dump trucks, ensuring the project had the equipment and resources needed to get the job done efficiently and safely.
We’re honored to have played a role in this effort and deeply value the spirit of teamwork and generosity that drives the “We Are Greener Together” initiative.
